Prior to Evernile, Varun worked with the Asian Development Bank and was deputed as an Officer on Special Duty at the National Health Authority (NHA), Government of India. The NHA manages the world’s largest healthcare programme, Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and the National Digital Health Mission. Varun led creation of one of the largest Indian healthcare blended financing facility (USD ~350 M), 'SAMRIDH' for funding healthcare start-ups. 
 
Prior to that, Varun has worked as a management consultant helping organizations such as NITI Aayog, UNESCO, Govt of Karnataka, Govt of Delhi optimize their citizen service delivery programmes. He has also worked extensively with companies in the space of B2B e-commerce, digital health, clinical research, surgical robotics and health insurance.

 

In 2019, for his work, Varun was recognized as one of the UN SDG Goalkeepers by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Earlier in 2018, he was recognized and invited by the UNLEASH network as an UNLEASH Changemaker Fellow.

 

By education, Varun is an MBA graduate from IIM Ahmedabad and an engineer.
